In the beginning....

So what are we going to be up to for 3 months?....

well on 1st of february we fly from manchester to Accra in Ghana, here we'll be staying with the 'Botchways' a local Ghanaian family, they have 2 sons and a younger daughter. Patarick the oldest, is the project supervisor for the football project we have volunteered to help with. We will be staying in Ghana for a month, training twice a day - from 6am till 8am and then 4pm to 6pm, teaching kids from 10-18 years of age. Playing at any other time of the day would probably be suicide as it can reach 40 degrees this time of year.

During the days we will have the opportunity to check out the local area and also go into the school and assist with the teaching, which again could be very rewarding as these kids actual want to learn, some walk from miles around just to get to school, so they can have the chance to improve their lives.

The weekends is when we get time to ourselves and have the chance to check out more of Ghana...like the beautiful beaches, wildlife and the national park which sounds amazing.

On the 1st of march we leave Ghana and fly to Bangkok after a quick stop over in Ethiopia. We spend a couple of days in Bangkok before we meet up and start our first trek through Thailand which will take about 26 days. this trek then finishes back in Bangkok where we have a day or so to relax and then we're off for 10-12 days through vietnam and cambodia where we get to stay with hilltribes and experience some of the most amazing scenery and beaches.

Then finally we have about 2 weeks to just travel around and have some beautiful spots already earmarked to check out. From party boats to mopeds to secluded beaches..time to wind down before heading back to blighty...

We'll both be updating the blog as and when we can to keep everyone in the loop. We hope you enjoy our litle journal and feel free to get involved with this blog.
